The hand-operated tool was used for sealing wine bottles with natural corks and is a fine example of the functional design of traditional winemaking equipment.

The corker features an ergonomically shaped cast aluminum handle and a mechanical device for compressing the corks. The cork can then be pressed into the bottle neck via a side screw mechanism with a round push button. The combination of silver-colored aluminum and dark metal parts gives the tool its characteristic industrial look.

The brand name "SANBRI" is embossed on the housing.
