Anisette Pernod carafe with two glasses – 3-piece set

This original Anisette Pernod set is a characteristic piece of French bistro and bar culture from the 1960s and 1970s. It consists of a water carafe and two matching tall glasses, each featuring the distinctive Pernod decor in blue and yellow.

The bulbous carafe with its narrow neck and shaped spout was originally produced as a promotional item for bars and bistros. It was used to serve water at the table for diluting Pernod or pastis—an essential part of the French aperitif ritual. The carafe was made in Italy from sturdy pressed glass.

The two slender glasses pick up on the design of the carafe with their blue and yellow "Anisette Pernod" print and complete the ensemble. Both glasses feature the same print.

Originally manufactured for gastronomic use, the set is now a beautiful piece of French bistro culture and is equally well-suited for a home bar or for serving a classic pastis.
