Antique money box with key - Austria around 1900

This antique cash box is an authentic piece of early industrial and craft history. Made of sheet metal and equipped with a foldable brass handle, it once served as a secure storage for cash, documents, or valuables in shops, inns, and private households.

Stylistically, the box can be dated to the period between 1880 and 1920. Such cash boxes were often manufactured by regional locksmiths in Austria and continue to impress with their functional construction and simple design.
