Historical cigar box - circa 1900–1930

This original "Esquisitos" brand cigar box is an authentic piece of German tobacco history from the first half of the 20th century. Made of wood and with its original preserved labels, it conveys the charm of historical tobacconists and colonial goods stores.

Particularly appealing is the preserved price label on the front with the inscription "30 Pf. das Stück" (30 Pfennig per piece), which dates the box to the era of the German Empire or the Weimar Republic. Such price bands were used directly in trade and are rarely preserved today.

The brand name "Esquisitos" – Spanish for "exquisite" or "select" – follows the tradition of the time to give cigars Spanish or Cuban-sounding names to associate them with the origin of high-quality tobaccos. In fact, many of these cigars were manufactured by German factories and produced for the domestic market.

The flat wooden box has a hinged lid with an original metal clasp and is now wonderfully suitable as a decorative storage box for letters, photos, jewelry or other small treasures.
