French pocket corkscrew – late 19th century

This antique pocket corkscrew, dating from the late 19th century, impresses with its simple, functional design. The T-shaped handle made of solid brass sits comfortably in the hand and develops an authentic age patina over the decades, which emphasizes the historical character of the piece.

The steel worm is firmly anchored in the brass handle and is testament to the robust construction of these early corkscrews. A small ring element attached to the shaft originally served to attach the corkscrew to a chain, a chatelaine (belt hook) or a pocket – ideal for travel or daily use.
