This ceramic vase by Dümler & Breiden dates back to West German ceramic production in the 1960s and 1970s. Its compact, bulbous shape with a narrow neck and side handle is characteristic of the expressive design of so-called West German Pottery.
The multi-layered glaze in grey, dark brown, ochre, and rust red is particularly appealing. The running layers of colour and the circular décor on the front give the vase a vibrant surface. The combination of matte and glossy areas highlights the handcrafted nature of the piece.
On the underside is the impressed manufacturer's mark of Dümler & Breiden as well as the model number 1052/15 and the inscription “GERMANY”.
A fine example of West German studio pottery, which is impressive as a standalone decorative object even without flowers.
