Large Gauloises Longues ashtray – Proceram, 1970s

This exceptionally large ashtray from the French cigarette brand Gauloises Longues was produced in France by Proceram in the 1970s. With its generous dimensions, it is one of the rare larger versions of this classic advertising ashtray.

The rectangular shape features a vibrant blue glaze, into which the "GAULOISES LONGUES" lettering on two opposing sides, as well as the brand's characteristic winged helmet, are incorporated in relief. The side cigarette rests and the clear, geometric design emphasize its functional character.

Such advertising ashtrays were once part of the furnishings in French cafés, bars, and bistros. The large version in particular is significantly rarer to find today than the well-known smaller models. The piece also makes a beautiful eye-catcher as a generous tray for keys and other small items.
