This Muratti’s Ariston brand cigarette tin dates from the first half of the 20th century. Manufactured for B. Muratti Sons & Co. Ltd., based in Manchester and London, it is a fine example of historical British tobacco advertising.
The rectangular metal tin features an intricately designed lithograph in red, black, and gold. The front bears the lettering "Muratti’s Gold Tipped Ariston Cigarettes" as well as the promotional slogan "As Smoked by Royalty & the Nobility." A small crown emblem underscores the elegant brand image that Muratti once used to advertise its cigarettes.
Originally crafted as packaging for 20 cigarettes with gold-colored tips, the tin is now a decorative collector’s item. Its historical typography and bold colors also make it an interesting small storage container.
