St. Raphaël Ice Bucket – France, 1950s–1960s

This original St. Raphaël Quinquina ice bucket dates back to French bistro and bar culture of the 1950s and 1960s. Made from heavy pressed glass with a striking diamond pattern and equipped with a movable metal handle, it combines functionality with the unmistakable charm of Mid-Century design.

The red St. Raphaël Quinquina lettering is reminiscent of the famous French wine- and quinine-based aperitif, which was a staple in French cafés, bistros, and brasseries for decades. Such ice buckets were distributed as promotional items directly to the catering trade and were part of the stylish serving of aperitifs and cocktails.

The heavy pressed glass with its faceted surface creates impressive light reflections and makes the ice bucket a decorative object even today. In addition to its original use, it is also suitable as a lantern, candle holder, or stylish storage for bar utensils.

The glass base bears the embossed inscription "Made in France", confirming its French origin.
