Ika Paperweight

The solid brass Ika Paperweight combines playful design with traditional Japanese metalworking. Shaped like a small squid, it serves as a paperweight or book weight, holding open pages in place while you read or write.

The object is crafted in Takaoka, a city with a rich history as a center for Japanese metalworking. The colored surface is finished using traditional techniques, giving each piece its own unique coloration. A small indentation also allows the Ika Paperweight to be used as a pen rest. It is delivered in a traditional Kiribako wooden box.
