Bistrot Loupe Decanter Émile-Robert

This carafe is a faithful reproduction of the hand-blown glass decanters that were common in European bars and bistros in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Back then, guests used them to prepare their own drinks—especially the classic absinthe, which was diluted with water. Such decanters often also served as elegant advertising vehicles for spirits manufacturers.

In the Belle Époque, water was slowly poured over a piece of sugar into the absinthe glass until it dissolved and fell into the drink – the carafe was an indispensable utensil.

Please wash the carafe by hand only. Then simply turn it upside down on a cloth and let it dry completely.
