The opener is crafted from traditional Nambu Tekki, a Japanese cast iron art with centuries of history. This artisanal tradition originated in Morioka, northern Japan, and is known for its durability, robustness, and the characteristic deep black surface of the iron. The material feels pleasantly heavy in the hand and ensures particularly stable leverage.

The design combines traditional material with a modern, expressive formal language – typical of Tadahiro Baba's work, who designs everyday objects with a sculptural character.
