Paperweight Jizo

The Paperweight Jizo is a small paperweight made of solid cast iron, designed after the Japanese Jizō Bosatsu. Its minimalist form and greenish patinated surface give the figure its special character.

Jizō is one of the most well-known Buddhist figures in Japan and is traditionally considered the protector of children and travelers. His statues are frequently found at temples, cemeteries, and along paths. They are often adorned with red bibs, caps, or small scarves.

Due to its weight, the Jizo is suitable both as a paperweight and as a small decorative object for a desk, shelf, or side table.
