Gancia advertising ashtray made of Opalex glass

This original advertising ashtray from the traditional Italian brand Gancia is a beautiful example of European bistro and aperitif culture of the post-war era. Made of white Opalex glass in France, it combines the robust functionality of classic catering equipment with the timeless design of historic advertising objects.

The high-quality opal glass is characterized by its smooth, slightly glossy surface and its particular resistance. The ashtray features the characteristic Gancia logo in red and blue, as well as the Italian advertising slogan, and was originally intended for use in cafes, bars, and restaurants.

On the underside is the "OPALEX – MADE IN FRANCE" embossing, which refers to its manufacture by the well-known French producer of opal glass.
