This charming set of eight vintage spice jars combines nostalgic kitchen magic with traditional craftsmanship and comes from the renowned porcelain manufactory Wallendorfer Porzellan. With their classic onion pattern in deep cobalt blue and turned wooden lids, they are still popular collector's items and decorative companions in the kitchen today.
The spice jars are labeled "Curry," "Nutmeg," "Cloves," and "Juniper" and were originally made for the stylish storage of essential kitchen spices. The traditional décor was executed using the "real cobalt" technique – a high-quality underglaze painting method that uses genuine cobalt oxide. This creates the characteristic depth of the luminous blue, which loses none of its expressiveness even after decades.
The jars are in good, age-appropriate vintage condition with minor signs of wear that underline their authentic character.
A beautiful ensemble of German kitchen culture that will delight collectors of GDR design as well as lovers of classic country kitchens.
