Berger "Ses Sirops" – Moulin des Loups, France

This large French promotional ashtray was made for Berger, a brand known for its syrups as well as its spirits. The bright yellow glaze and the black typography “BERGER – SES SIROPS” encircling the piece give it a particularly graphic, almost modern appearance.

With its distinctive trapezoidal shape and deeply molded rests, the ashtray was designed for heavy-duty use in French cafés, bars, and bistros. The combination of bright yellow and black lettering makes it a highly decorative object of French promotional culture today.

The piece was made by Moulin des Loups in Orchies, France. The underside bears the manufacturer’s windmill mark with the inscription “Orchies – Moulin des Loups – France” as well as the number 878.26.09.
