This exceptional Ricard glass was designed by the French designers Cordoleani & Fontana and charmingly combines aperitif culture with functionality. The striking yellow lid serves simultaneously as a small bowl for olives, nuts, or other tapas, making the glass a quintessential example of French epicurean culture.
The glass was specially developed for the traditional enjoyment of Ricard Pastis. In the base, there is a small depression known as a "goutte" (French for "drop"). This serves as a measuring aid, holding exactly the right amount of pastis for the classic preparation. A subtle line around the glass then indicates the recommended fill level for the water. This makes it easy to achieve the traditional mixing ratio.
Both the Ricard lettering and the Cordoleani & Fontana signature on the bottom of the glass underscore the special character of this well-conceived design object. Today, these glasses are among the more coveted collector's items of French bar and aperitif culture.
The glass is in good used condition with slight signs of wear consistent with age.
An original design object from France that uniquely blends function, wit, and aperitif culture.
