This trinket tray was manufactured as a promotional item for the French cigarette brand Gitanes. The deep blue glaze is complemented by the white "GITANES INTERNATIONALES" lettering and the characteristic silhouette of a dancer in black.
The elongated shape features a recessed storage area as well as a small notch on the front. Originally intended as a promotional ashtray, the piece can now be used just as effectively as a tray for keys, coins, or other small items. The clean, geometric design and the intense Gitanes blue make this tray a striking piece of French advertising culture.
This is a vintage utility item with corresponding light signs of age and use. Please also refer to the detailed images for further information.
A beautiful piece of French advertising ceramics featuring the unmistakable Gitanes motif.
