This elegant porcelain dish comes from the storied Hôtel du Palais in Biarritz, one of France's most famous grand hotels. Originally built in the 19th century as an imperial residence for Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie, the establishment continues to define the history of the sophisticated seaside resort on the French Atlantic coast.
The white porcelain dish bears the historic emblem of the Hôtel du Palais, featuring a crowned eagle, as well as the gold-colored lettering "Hôtel du Palais Biarritz." A fine gold rim follows the gently curved, square shape.
It was manufactured in France by Deshoulières / Apilco and produced in the 1980s for the hotel's amenities.
A special piece of French hotel history and now a beautiful valet tray, jewelry dish, or decorative collector's item.
This is a vintage item. Slight age-related signs of wear are possible.
