The Cast Iron Incense Burner by Iwachu is a Japanese incense burner made of solid cast iron. Its compact, tripod form, the lightly textured black surface, and the lid with a small knob give it a calm, sculptural character.
Iwachu is one of the well-known manufacturers of Nambu Tekki, the traditional cast iron art from the Japanese prefecture of Iwate. The roots of this craft date back over 400 years. Characteristic features are the meticulous workmanship, the heavy weight, and the distinctive surfaces of the cast objects.
The incense burner is suitable for both classic incense sticks and incense cones. Incense sticks are inserted into the opening provided in the lid, while incense cones can be burned inside the vessel. The removable lid and the three small feet complement the functional design.
