This porcelain tray (vide-poches) from the Parisian restaurant Le Colisée is a characterful piece of international restaurant culture from the mid-20th century. The striking coat of arms motif and the addresses in Paris (Champs-Élysées) and New York allude to the establishment's former significance and its transatlantic presence.
Made from fine porcelain and adorned with a subtle gold rim, the tray combines decorative appeal with functional utility. As a classic vide-poches, it originally served to hold small items – a function it elegantly fulfills to this day.
The porcelain mark of the French manufacturer Longchamp on the reverse side underscores the origin and quality of the piece.
