Brass Nutcracker "Lady Legs" - Made in Italy

This exceptional nutcracker, made of solid brass, combines functional design with a humorous, almost sculptural character. Crafted in Italy in the early to mid-20th century, the object features stylized women's legs with finely detailed elements and decorative palm frond ornaments along the sides.

The stamped inscription "Made Italy" indicates its origin from an Italian art foundry, which produced high-quality brass objects particularly between the 1920s and 1950s. The additional small foundry mark in the form of a shield served to identify the manufacturer, but is now only partially legible.

Such figurative nutcrackers were often produced as decorative table objects and are now sought-after collector's items bridging Art Deco, Mid-Century, and so-called "Goliardic Art". The combination of heavy brass, visible craftsmanship, and the slightly whimsical design gives the piece a special character.

The serrated opening is suitable for cracking various types of nuts, while the solid material develops a beautiful individual patina over time.
