This original Pastis 51 carafe is a characteristic piece of 1980s French bar culture. Its round, slightly conical shape with three encircling rings is complemented by the iconic blue and red "51" logo.
The heavy glass carafe has a narrow neck with a prominent rim and a cylindrical body that tapers slightly towards the bottom. Originally manufactured as a promotional carafe for the French aniseed spirit Pastis 51, it was used to serve water, which is traditionally used to dilute the pastis.
