Pastis 51 stainless steel water pitcher – France, 1970s

This water pitcher was produced as a promotional item for Pastis 51 and originates from the French bistro and bar culture of the 1970s. The simple stainless steel pitcher features the embossed lettering "PASTIS 51" on the front and back.

A special feature is the hinged lid combined with the spout: an integrated ice guard keeps ice cubes in the pitcher when pouring. Such water pitchers were used in French cafés and bars to serve chilled water separately with pastis, allowing the drink to be diluted to taste directly in the glass.

The combination of stainless steel, functional design, and the understated embossed brand logo makes the pitcher a beautiful bar and table accessory even today.
