These two pastis glasses were made for the French aperitif brand Ricard and date from the 1950s to the 1960s. With their simple shape and classic blue lettering, they are fine examples of French bistro and bar culture.
The glasses have a slightly conical shape with straight lines and a solid, stepped glass base. On the front is the dark blue Ricard logo in curved script with a distinctive diagonal underline. The minimalist design, without the yellow sun symbol used later, gives them their characteristic vintage look.
Originally intended for serving Ricard pastis in French cafés and bistros, these glasses are still wonderful for a classic pastis with water and ice today.
