Sulima Cigarette Ashtray – Dresden, 1920–1930

This rare advertising ashtray for Sulima Cigarettes dates from the heyday of the Dresden tobacco industry and was probably manufactured in the 1920s to 1930s. With its clear, functional design and characteristic Sulima lettering, it is an authentic testament to German advertising and everyday culture of the interwar period.

Made from white glazed porcelain, the ashtray features the distinctive "Sulima Cigaretten" lettering on the outside and the historical company logo in the center. Its robust design with two cigarette rests was intended for daily use in cafes, hotels, and restaurants, and corresponds to the classic design of early catering ashtrays. The underside bears the manufacturer's mark "Meissen", indicating its production in the traditional porcelain city of Meissen.
