Vintage wine bottle from France – 1930s
This exceptional French wine bottle likely dates from the early 1930s and was made of mouth-blown glass – a beautiful example of traditional craftsmanship. Particularly distinctive is the deep anchor mark at the base, a clue to its historical glassmaking origin.
Another remarkable feature is the very deep indentations (punches) on the bottom of the bottle. In wine bottles of that era, such pronounced depressions often indicated quality wines – they stabilized the bottle, facilitated pouring, and were considered a sign of superior bottling.
Today, the bottle resembles a small work of art: clear, elegant, and with a captivating design language that balances function and aesthetics. As a decorative piece, vase, or historical collector's item, it blends effortlessly into both modern and classic interiors.
